He is survived by: his parents, William Whelan and Margaret Whelan of Ardmore, PA; his brother James of Newtown Square, PA; his former wife Mary Margaret Whelan (Kenney) of Maple Glen, PA.; his wife Anita Helbling; his children, William (Kristina) of Wyndmoor, PA, Andrew (Katelyn) of Philadelphia, PA, Barry of Annapolis, MD, Maureen Hance (George) of Haddon Heights, NJ, Margaret Ann Kennedy (Daniel) of Wilmington, DE and Bernadette Gunn (Jack) of Fernandina Beach, FL; and his sister-in-law Polly of Newtown Square, PA. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
