He was predeceased by: his parents, John Oakes and Blanche Oakes (Henry); his wife Lila Drake; and his siblings, Walter, Margaret and Helen.
He is survived by: his children, Tammie Rudicil (Mark), Pamela Morgan (Charles), Roxanne Brant (Lee Roy), Raymond Dean Oakes (Brenda), Rodney Oakes, Sheila Oakes, Eugene Oakes (Melissa) and Kimberly Raley; his siblings, John (Pearl), Thomas, Larry Oakes (Gail), Mildred Lenio (Randy) and Carol Kemp (Marc); and his sister-in-law Bonnie Oakes. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
