He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil K. Hartle and Helen R. Hartle (Starlipper); and his sister Norma Kalbaugh. He is survived by: his children, Shannon Hurley (Jim) of Maryland and Steven Hartle (Laura) of Mechanicsburg; his grandchildren, Amanda, Siarra Long, Lauren, Audrey and Ava Hartle; his great grandchildren, Cara Bollinger, Copeland Guise and Lane Hammond; and his siblings, Stanley, Julia, Sandy, Steve and Joanne.
