Kimberly Ann Colburn Obituary

In the spirit of the immortal bard, we lament the passing of the gentle, loving, and generous Kimberly Ann Colburn, known to all as Kim/Kimberly or just "Palumbo". Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on the eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord 1966, she departed this earthly stage in Downingtown, Pennsylvania on the twenty-ninth day of October, 2023. Of her lineage, she was the cherished daughter of Joy Lynn (Bill) Palumbo, beloved sister of Gary (Amber Gest) Palumbo, and aunt of Bella and Bradley Palumbo. She was the loving ex-wife of Walter Knablein and the devoted mother of Zachary Knablein. In later years, she found love, comfort and companionship in her husband, Christopher K Colburn, and embraced her stepsons, and her role as StepWitch to Christopher A Colburn and Patrick R Colburn, with open arms. Her steadfast companions, Ralphie and Noble, her dogs, were constant sources of joy and comfort.

Educated at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Fairfield, Connecticut, Kim furthered her studies at Sacred Heart University, preparing her for a career in dental ceramics. For over twenty years, she plied her trade with skill and dedication, both at the Brickwalk in Fairfield and within the confines of her own home lab.Kim's heart was a wellspring of love for her family and friends. She treasured the time spent with her dear son Zach at their Vermont home, hosting friends and family, and even the occasional black bear, with warmth and generosity. She held a special fondness for the house in Connecticut where her grandparents, Mimi and Pop, once lived. In her community, Kim was a force of benevolence, assisting in the establishment of Cars4Cause, a non-profit organization designed to aid families in Chester County battling severe illness. She also brought joy and laughter to many through her spirited participation in trivia nights at the Suburban Beer Garden in Exton, where she was known to good-naturedly heckle the host, her husband Chris. In her leisure, Kim nurtured connections with a host of friends and acquaintances, from her Notre Dame days to her new life in Pennsylvania. She frequented Manicure Lane, where her dear friend Amanda catered to her nails, and enjoyed quality time with her best friend, Shelley, for lashes and TV gossip. Her love for online shopping was evident in her active participation on eBay and her unwavering support for Jeff Bezos's endeavors with Blue Origin. Kim's faith was a quiet one, a seed planted late in life by Tim the Toothman and nurtured by The O'Brian family in Downingtown and Pastor Chris Swanson of Calvary Chapel in Chester Springs. Though not overtly religious, she found peace in Christ. In her passing, we imagine her in a heaven, a glass of Chardonnay at hand, a forbidden vape by her side, and the heavenly hosts requesting her to lower the music just a touch. We remember her for her love, her generosity, and her gentle soul and her gift of love to all. As we mourn, we celebrate the life of Kimberly, a woman who touched many lives and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Please join Kim's family and friends for visitation on Monday November 6, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at The Logan Funeral Home, 698 E. Lincoln Hwy (Rt 30 and Ship Rd.) Exton PA. Funeral service to begin at 12:00noon.
