He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Murphy and Regina Murphy (Flynn); and his sister Jeanne Murphy Groswith. He is survived by: his wife Maryanne Murphy (Kane); his children, Gerald Murphy Jr. (Reeta) of Missouri, Maryanne Lanzar (John) of Downingtown, Patricia Miller (Stu) of Pottstown, Meghan McGeoy (Jim) of Downingtown and John Murphy (Kim) of Coatesville; his grandchildren, Faith Murphy Hendricks (Josh), Chase Murphy, Dana Lanzar Starkey (Jessie), Corinne Lanzar McKee (Bryan), Megan Lanzar Walker (Shane), Abigail Miller Shipley (Ben), Stuart Miller IV (Gabriella Kelly), Jimmy McGeoy (Olivia Fowler), JerryMcGeoy (Fabbiha Afrin), Kathleen McGeoy, Chelsea Murphy and McKenna Murphy; his great grandchildren, Sloane Hendricks, Payton, Wyatt Starkey, Avery, Coral Shipley, Stuart Miller V and Liam Murphy; and his siblings, Francis Murphy (Maire) and Patricia Dixon (Larry).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Philip & James Catholic Church (723 Lincoln Hwy E, Exton, PA 19341). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
