He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Koontz and Mae Koontz (Conlon); his wife Marilyn J. Koontz (Perrin); and his brothers, Harold Koontz (late Marie) and Allen "Jim" Koontz.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheila (Rodney W. Boyd); his grandson Shawn E. Boyd (Krista); his great grandchildren, Lillian Diane Boyd and Troy Alexander Boyd; and his sister-in-law Betty Koontz (Henderson).
