McKernan of Evans City, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 23, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Vincent McKernan, Jr. and Margaret McGovern McKernan; his brothers, Thomas R. McKernan, Kenneth J. McKernan and Edward V. McKernan III; and his brother-in-law Dennis Lipecky.
He is survived by: his wife Candace Ward McKernan; and his siblings, Susan M. Lipecky, Dennis J. McKernan, Michael F. McKernan (Linda), Nora A. "Missy" Sutermaster (Carl) and Elizabeth Bertsch (Pat "Skip"). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private memorial service will be held by the family.
