We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2021, at the age of 77, Thomas W. Gettle of Etters, Pennsylvania, born in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan A. Gettle and Violet B. Gettle (Newcomer); and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his siblings, Melanie Brookmeyer (George) of York, Ivan A. Gettle, Jr. of Forest Hill, MD and Joseph N. Gettle of York. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

“Just saw this obit...Tom and I shared an apartment in the early 70's and were the best of friends. He was a good man. I went with him several times to visit his mother and sister. Over the years we lost contact, but I even remember in the early 70's Tom, his mother and sister and I took a trip to Puerto Rico. I have many great memories of him.....sorry for your loss......John Brubaker”
