She was predeceased by: her parents, Eva Walz and Fred Walz; her husband John T. Smith Sr.; her siblings, Stan, Fred, Les, Anna Mary and Margaret; her stepsons, Michael and Ralph Smith; her children-in-law, Anna May and Chester Demski Sr.; and her grandson Chester Demski Jr..
She is survived by: her son Joe Abbott (Doreen); and her stepchildren, John T. Smith Jr., Dolores Demski and Susan Schmidt (Brian). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home (301 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, in Essington, PA, in Ruth's memory.
