He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Toney and Marjorie E. Roueche (Mayerhoefer); and his brother Paul Toney. He is survived by: his sons, Joshua J. Toney of Maricopa County, AZ and Matthew J. Toney of Norfolk, VA; and his sisters, Marge E. Robertson of Waterford and Helen Roberts of Millcreek. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
