With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George J. Nellis (Erie, Pennsylvania), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. George left this world on April 14, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Nellis and Grace Nellis (Biebel); his brother Frederick Nellis; his former wife Nancy Nellis (Yaple); and his sister Alice Nellis.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Nellis (Haskin); his siblings, Agnes Gausman (Joseph) of Erie, Grace Stevens (David) of Edinboro, Raymond Nellis (Debbie) of Erie and Lawrence Nellis of Edinboro; his children, Sheila Ziems (Ryan) of Brownton, MN, Pamela Nellis of Erie and George J. Jr. Nellis (Jennifer) of Norfolk; and his grandchildren, Spencer and Sydney Ziems. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Boniface Church (9367 Wattsburg Rd, Erie, PA 16509).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to either Kuhl Hose Fire Department at kuhlhosefire.org or the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org in George's name.
