It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Ellis Barnes Jr. (Erie, Pennsylvania), who passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John David Barnes, Jeanetta Mae Neal Barnes, Dora Lee Gillespie Barnes and Leander Barnes. He is survived by: his parents, Hortense Barnes and George Ellis Barnes Sr.; his children, George Ellis Barnes III and Jaidin Marcone Barnes of Erie; his stepdaughter Veatriz Perez of Erie; his sisters, Yannette Barnes of Erie and Antania Barnes Priester (Henry) of Round Rock, TX; his grandchildren, Saverio Amaru Perez Wiley and Avila Carmen Perez Wiley; his former wife Christy Stewart of Erie; and his nephews, Bryce Barnes of Philadelphia, PA and Brayden Priester of Round Rock, TX. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory (1595 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16508). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Second Baptist Church (757 E 26th St, Erie, PA 16504).
