He was predeceased by: his daughter Donna Thompson; and his brother Gary Montgomery. He is survived by: his spouse Mary Montgomery; his daughters, Sandra Hemenger, Tina Hayes and Tammy Edwards; and his brother Ronald Montgomery. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
