With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of DeWayne M. Shaffer of Erie, Pennsylvania, born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 20, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Shaffer and Jeannette Shaffer (Jones); his former wife Susan Shaffer (Bowes); and his brother Robert Shaffer. He is survived by: his children, Sherine Shaffer-Young (Michael), Jeffrey Shaffer (Deborah) and Julie Shaffer; his grandchildren, Amerie Shaffer, Landry Young, Delaney Shaffer and Julia Merry (Read); and his great grandchild Raiden Merry. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
