He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Smith and Esther Smith; and his brothers, Ronald Smith and Gerald Smith. He is survived by: his pet Piper; his wife Julie Miller Smith; his children, Lorrie Smith, David Jr. (Ronette), Darin Smith, Stephanie Harper (Bill) and Matthew Smith (Shanyn); his grandchildren, David, Allyson, Ethan, Andrew, Elizabeth and Ikaika; and his siblings, Richard Smith of Erie, Glenn Smith (Alice) of Erie, Jim Smith (Kristin) of Bedford, TX, Mark Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy Brown of Erie, Janet Hughes of Erie, Diane Peelman (Jim) of Erie and Kathy Smith of Erie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to David's family.
