He is survived by: his wife Sarah; his children, William Johnston Jr. (Leslie), Sandra Gibson (John), Martha Roedig (John) and James Johnston (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jessica, Meredith, Abigail Johnston, John, Joshua, Bryn Gibson, Nicole, Kellie Roedig, Daniel, Kevin and Margaret Johnston; his great grandchildren, Carter, Ava and Kennedy Taticchi; his grandchild Parker Gibson; and his nephew Robert Johnston.
