He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank M. Horning and Barbara Horning (Oberholtzer); and his siblings, Lena Hoover, Clayton Horning, Leah Horning, Anna Horning, Ruth Martin and Ina Horning.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Ann (Sauder); his children, Julia Grace Sauder of Richmond, VA, Stanley S. (Sharon), Leslie S. (Crystal), Nevin S. (Denise), Neil S. (Tutuk), Bruce S. (Crystal), Daniel S. (Gwen) and Lewis S. (Amy); and his siblings, Lavina Horning of Ephrata, Frank, Jr. (Esther Horning) of Schaefferstown and Florence Horning of Ephrata. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
