She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Gockley and Elizabeth Gockley (Brandt); her husband R. Herbert Rice; her son Robert L. Rice; and her siblings, Bernice Dietrich, Albert Gockley, Paul Gockley, Dorothy Hertzog, Esther Eby and Edwin Gockley.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Florence Rice (Allwine) of New Holland; her grandchildren, Eric (Lisa), Emily (Joe Keen) of Colorado and Ellen (Kevin Martin) of Delaware; and her sister Arlene Wilhelm. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
