He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Rathman and Cora N. Rathman (Heck); his wife Arlene Rathman (Shirk); his sisters, Jean E. Rathman and Dorothy L. Burkholder; and his grandchildren, Michael and Shannon Wenrich.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara J. (Keith Horst), Lisa K. (Jody Leakey), Janelle L. (Linford Martin) and John A., Jr. (Traci); and his sister Joyce M. Andes. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
