He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Burkholder and Elizabeth Burkholder (Zimmerman); his wife Irene M. Burkholder (Zimmerman); and his siblings, Aaron Burkholder, Alta Zimmerman, Anna Horst, Elizabeth Martin, Mary Martin, Ada Snyder, Noah Burkholder, Edna Weaver, Lena Zimmerman and David Burkholder.
He is survived by: his children, Larry (Rosanne), Diane (Elvin Hursh) of Ephrata, Brenda Burkholder of Ephrata and Neal R. Burkholder of Akron; his grandchildren, Sara Burkholder, Darren Burkholder, Ryan Burkholder, Abigail Burkholder, JoAnna Hess, Jason Hursh, Justin Hursh, Matthew Burkholder, Michael Burkholder, Rebecca Jekel and Andrew Burkholder; and his siblings, Harvey (Jeanette Burkholder), Ella (Isaac Weaver), Etta Martin, Norman Burkholder and Elvin Burkholder. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church (590 Hammer Creek Rd, Lititz, PA 17543). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
