He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac B. Zimmerman and Anna Zimmerman (Hurst); his son David R. Zimmerman; his grandsons, Shane Zimmerman and Jerre Zimmerman; and his brother Joseph Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his wife Ella E. (Reiff); his children, Anna R. (Ivan S. Nolt) of Orchard, IA, Edwin R. (Marlene), Erma R. (Larry F. Rissler) of Leola, Edith R. (late Harry W. Nolt) of Orchard, IA, Ella R. (Jesse H. Martin) of Lititz, Elva R. (Harold S. Martin) of Ephrata, Erla R. (Aaron S. Hoover) of Lititz and Erwin R. (Norma Z.); his sisters, Lena Oberholtzer, Esther Martin, Annie Burkholder and Emma Martin; and his sister-in-law Esther Zimmerman (Nolt). He is also survived by 37 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
