It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edwin Mertz Sr. of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 24, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Mertz and Irene Mertz (Gockley); his wife Christine Mertz (Bender); his stepdaughter Patricia Schaeffer; and his sisters, Joanne Snyder and Rae Kochel.
He is survived by: his children, Dervin L. (Corrina), Edwin Mertz, Jr. of Abbottstown and Sandra (Robert Oberly) of Ephrata; his stepchildren, Troy Bender of Ephrata, Carl Bender of Greencastle, Teresa Miller of Ephrata and Gloria Sword of Chambersburg; and his sister Linda (Larry Ruth) of Brickerville. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
