He was predeceased by: his father R. Rodney Rudy; and his stepfather Paul E. Whitmeyer. He is survived by: his daughter Tiffany (Christian Kaiser) of Lancaster; his grandsons, Derrick Ulrich and Devin Ulrich; his brother Jerry M. Rudy of Myerstown; and his friend Davis Ulrich.
