We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2022, at the age of 94, Alma R. Brendle of Ephrata, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin M. Brendle; her parents, Harry Doutrich and Lydia Doutrich (Lefever); and her children, Eugene Brendle and Ruth Hibshman.

She is survived by: her daughters, Lois (Leroy Gehman) of Denver and Dorothy Martin (Nick Cannon) of Ephrata; her daughter-in-law Ann Brendle of Virginia; and her sisters-in-law, Esther Doutrich of Myerstown and Elaine Doutrich of Myerstown. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 – 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.

“Thank you Marla! This is her grandson Cody. I remember meeting you when I was still a youngster can't remember exactly how old I was but I remember. You meant alot to grandma and grandpa, as they got to know you when serving as house parents for We Care, I remember grandma kept your picture among the pictures of the family in the living room.”

“So sorry to hear and my prayers will be with the family! Alma was such a sweet lady and I loved her little giggle :) She introduced me to brown butter (on noodles) as I never had that before. We did stop by the home place when we were to PA the last time but the large auction sign was out front so I didn't get to see her. I did stay there once when Lynelle Hoover got married then another time we stopped to visit them. I was in V.S. at We Care when her and Mel were house parents.”
