He was predeceased by: his parents, Noble String and Blanche String (Keiffer); his former wife Faye A. String (Keim); and his sister Patricia Bender. He is survived by: his wife Blanche "Peg" String (Rupp); his children, Mary Comp (Rick) of Enola, Darrell String (Bonnie) of Havre and Dale String (Joy) of Etters; and his siblings, Floyd String (Lois) and Joyce Mehler.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Camp Hill, 200 Chestnut St, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
