She was predeceased by: her parents, Hays Homer and Erma Homer; her husband Ronald Gates; and her granddaughter Jenni Gelwicks. She is survived by: her children, Debbie Harro (Rick), Ronald "Reg" Gates (Jennifer), Deb Gelwicks (Jeff), Diane Bingaman (John) and Ronda Vasiloff (George). She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, with the 8th Great Grandchild due in November and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenvale Church of God or Summerdale United Methodist Church.
