He was predeceased by: his parents, John Akins and Mary Keller Akins; his spouse Dorothy Bennett; his son Robert Akins; and his siblings, William, George, Albert, Clifford Akins, Elsie Gibbs, Violet Card and Pearl Fulmer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Akins of Emporium and Stella Bish of Mount Pleasant, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
