He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph G. Ames, Sr. and Elsie Mae Kloeffel Ames. He is survived by: his wife Joann M. Swarner Ames; his sons, Jody Ames and Ralph G. Ames, III (Kim); and his grandchild Payton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald house.
