She was predeceased by: her mother Violet M. Chapman. She is survived by: her husband John "Jack" Cortes; her children, Jacqueline Powell (Zachary) of Ellwood City, Steven Cortes (Donna) of Lake Worth, FL and Leslie Bortz (Robert) of New Galilee; her grandchildren, Ashlee Gray (Aaron), Tyler Powell, Sierra Cortes, Paris Holt (Zack), Brandon Bortz and Dylan Bortz; and her great grandchildren, Connor and Carson Gray.

Memorial donations in Verna Lee's name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
