He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Haefele and Marilyn (Sieg). He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Leyland Haefele; his son Chad Haefele (Amy); his granddaughter Emily Jo; and his siblings, John Bittner (Susan) and Linda Winters (Ken). He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Ron's honor to Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023, or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
