He was predeceased by: his parents, Patsy Costa and Clara Costa (Statti); his stepmother Emma Costa (Morabito); his sister Frances "Kena" Battaglia; and his son-in-law George Uremovich.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela Costa; his children, Christine Uremovich of Reading, Patrick Costa of Ellwood City and David Costa of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Dylan, Brianna, Jackson, Rocco, Cameron, Taylor and Wyatt; and his sisters, Jan Hergenrother (Jim) of Denver, CO and Stephanie Jaeger (Steve) of Cleveland.
