He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Ritenour and Allie Mae Porterfield Ritenour. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Smalley Ritenour; his children, Richard Matthew Ritenour, Kristen Crable and Ryan Christopher Ritenour; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Elaina, Emilee, MacKenzie Ritenour and Lukas Crable; his siblings, Patsy Shawley (Richard), Mary Ellen Thomas (John), Thomas Ritenour (Peggy), William Ritenour (Margie), James Ritenour (Mary), Bonnie Riley (William), Joseph Ritenour (Jackie), Debra Jenkins (Tom), Sally Jo Evans (George), Arlene Luketich (George) and Marlene Fereza (Frank); his grandson Leevi Ritenour; and his siblings, Dorothy Ament, Hazel Geary, Dennis and Danny Ritenour. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
