He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ober and Anna Kanode (Ginder). He is survived by: his children, William Kanode, Rebecca Bock (Dennis), J. R. Schaffner and Michael Griffie (Tammie); his siblings, Isaac Kanode (Miriam) and Mary Hostetter (Jim); and his close friends, Betsy Brandick and Debra Kanode. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (54 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003).
