He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Sands and Dolores Sands (McCready). He is survived by: his wife Diana Sands (Godlewski); his children, Chris Sands (Beth) and Amy Sands (Robert Parenteau) of Frederick; and his granddaughters, Nora and Sloane Sands.
