He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward A. Carlson and Dorothy Carlson (Littlewood); his wife Sally Carlson (Morris); and his pet Breeze. He is survived by: his children, Paula Lynn Carlson of Rostraver, Lynn Ann Carlson (Nicholas Damis) of Steubenville, OH and Brad E. Carlson of Elizabeth Township.

“I was very saddened upon hearing of Russell's death. My name is Harry Littlewood (first cousin) and Russell and I were children together in PA until my family moved to Waco, Texas in 1949. In recent years Russell and I kept in touch by phone and Christmas cards. We shared an interest in golf as well as family memories.. Many years ago, his mother (aunt Dorothy) paid us a visit as she was vacationing in Texas with a friend.. Russell will be surely missed by all who knew him. Harry Littlewood”
