He was predeceased by: his parents, George Prota and Virginia Landini Prota. He is survived by: his wife Susan M. Prota (Flannery); his children, Mike Heft (Harper) of Denver, CO, George Prota (Madison) of Denver, CO and Shannon Welsch (Sean) of Elizabeth; his grandson Owen Welsch; and his uncle Robert "Bob" Slonecker (late Jean) of Buena Vista. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, funeral service will be private.
