He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Garber and Eva Garber (Synko); his brother Roger L. Stegman; and his close friend Carole Ross. He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Loeffler (Steven) of North Huntingdon and Duane Garber Jr. (Shakala) of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Chloe, Cody Piergrossi and Lyric Loeffler; and his brother James M. Garber of West Mifflin.
