Agnes Aftanas Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Agnes Aftanas (Elizabeth, Pennsylvania), born in Creighton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 10, 2019, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Janosky and Albina Plitz Janosky; her husband Walter Aftanas; and her sisters, Wanda Guenther, Mildred Schreckengost, Mary DeBlasio, Frances Zemanski, Helen Nesbitt and Gene Thomas.
She is survived by: her son Dennis Aftanas (Janet) of Natrona Heights; her grandson Matthew A. Aftanas; her great grandchildren, Amanda J. Ewing of Sarver and Crystal M. Ewing of Evans City; and her stepchildren, Scott E. Ewing and Jennifer S. Karpinski of Greensburg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Concordia Lutheran Ministries of Cabot; Oertel Assisted Living and Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia for the wonderful care Agnes received and memorial donations may be directed to them or St. Mary Church.
