Thomas R. Raught Obituary
DUKE CENTER — Thomas R. Raught, 79, formerly of Duke Center, passed away on Wednesday (April 20, 2022) at the Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital.
Born on May 31, 1942 he was the son of Ralph W. and Florence Fannin Raught. On December 2, 1966 in Coryville, Pa. he married Judith A. Rice who survives.
Thomas was a 1961 graduate of Smethport Highschool and then attended Pitt Bradford and JCC obtaining his Associates degree in Chemistry. He was previously employed by Hysol as a chemist for 36 years and got to travel the world.
He was a life long resident of the area, and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, class reunions and keeping up with his classmates. Thomas was a lifelong member of the Republican party and the NRA. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving including his wife are two sons, Timothy (Maureen) Raught of Indian Creek, and Thomas (Amy) Raught of Eldred; one daughter Ann Marie (David) Brunner of Canal Fulton, OH; and six grandchildren, Reilly Raught, Zebulin Raught, Kaitlin Raught, Calley Raught, Hanna Brunner and Adam Brunner.
Preceding him in death was one infant brother Ralph "Sonny" Raught; four sisters, Marge Button, Twila Schermerhorn, Grace Banks, and Betty Freshwater.
Friends may call on Sunday (April 24, 2022) from 3 to 7 p.m. and funeral on Monday (April 25, 2022) at 11 a.m. at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred with Pastor Rick Price officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
