He was predeceased by: his parents, David W. Paterson, Sr. and Ruth Hafner Paterson; and his sister Anita Paterson Berger. He is survived by: his nieces, Vanessa Hamilton of Powell, OH and Stephanie Miller of West Orange, NJ..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dalton Shoemaker Cemetery or the Lehigh Valley Health Network Pocono Foundation, 206 E. Brown St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Donations are being accepted in memory of David.
