He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ames and Grace Metzgar Ames; and his siblings, Albert, Jr., Dick, Bob, Chuck, Phyllis Duffy, Ruth Mumford and Pauline Pietkiewicz.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Hicks Bruce of Pleasantville; his brother James Ames (Cheryl) of Seneca; his stepchildren, Rich Grove (Summer) of Oil City, Charli Brunst (Dan) of Spartansburg and Amanda Bruce of Erie; his stepgrandchildren, Katie Brunst (Kurt Kastner), Crissy Brunst (Branden Williams), Cody Brunst (Taneeka), Kaleb Brunst and Cameron Phelps (Amelia); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Eliott, Amara, Marty, John and Joe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
