He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Payne Dows, Jr. and Mildred Trostle Dows; his parents-in-law, Joseph Szymanski and Irene Wedzikowski Szymanski; his brother Mark Dows; and his brothers-in-law, David Szymanski, David Knickerbocker Sr. and Victor Hanko.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Szymanski Dows of Edinboro; his daughter Jessica Dows of North Tonawanda, NY; his siblings, Michael Dows (Marty), Peter Dows (Wendy), Daniel Dows (Jane) and Elizabeth Sidor (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Szymanski (Eve), Teresa Dows, Mary Hanko, Joyce Szymanski and Lynette Klobusnik (Dale). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
