It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Schmitt of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, born in Erie, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 9, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Kenneth C. Schmitt; her parents, Richard J. Gardner and Mary Ann Gardner; and her sisters, Betsy Marshall and Judy Dickson.

She is survived by: her children, Kathy Stubenhofer (Jerry), Joe Schmitt (Kathy), Ginny Shinn (Roy), Dr. Jim Schmitt, Sue Guillen (Mark) and Mary Ann Ignaczak (Ed); and her brother John Gardner. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

All CDC guidelines requiring face masks and social distancing will be in place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Dr., Edinboro, PA 16412.
