He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred J. Illig and Charlotte Trimm Illig; his sister Patrricia Stafford; his granddaughter Shelly Illig; and his brothers-in-law, Elmer Zilhaver and William Larson.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Illig; his children, John Illig (Crissy), Judy Corwin (Matt), Jeanny Brown (Tim) and Jeff Illig; and his sisters, Carol Zilhaver and Susanne Zimmer. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
