He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sides and Ethel Sides (Stephens); his wife Joy; his daughter Beth Ann; and his siblings, Maryann Forst and Robert.

He is survived by: his daughters, Billie Jo of Kingwood, WV and Charlene (Michael Romani).
