He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Hopfer and Viola Hopfer (Davis); his wife Catherine (Kuzminsky); his sons, Lawerence L. Hopfer Jr. and Leonard L. Hopfer; and his siblings, Sherman, Thelma, Alberta, Rea and Barbara.
He is survived by: his children, Lance Hopfer (Susan) and Laura Dolges (Gerald); his grandchildren, Joshua (Amber), Heidi (Michael), Michelle (Joshua), Racquel (Jeremy) and Andrew; his great grandchildren, Sylvia and Braxton; and his siblings, Edgar, Mary and Darlene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
