He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph W. Pearson and Mary Ellen Pearson (Baker); and his wife Sherry Pearson (Elms). He is survived by: his sons, Jonathan of Virginia, Nathan Pearson (Rachel) and Johnstown; his grandson Nash; and his siblings, Clare Ann Lasinsky (Frank) of Ebensburg, Joseph J. Pearson (Suzanne), Timothy Pearson (Cheryl) of Ebensburg, Melanie Eckenrode (Raymond), Mary Jo Shrift (Edwin) of New Germany, David D. Pearson (Josie) and Melita O'Donnell (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
