He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Howard Shaffer and Judith Rearick; his brother Terry Shaffer; and his twin-brother Donald Shaffer. He is survived by: his children, Sabrina Lerch (Michael) of Vandegrift, Meghan Fombutu of Wichita, KS and Daniel Shaffer (Amanda Wolfe) of Vandergrift; his grandsons, Maverick and Calvin; his siblings, James Shaffer of Dayton, OH, Artie "Rob" Shellhammer of Latrobe and Debi Carnahan (Jim) of Kiski Township; and his stepmother Peggy Shaffer of Spring Church. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
