He is survived by: his parents, William Coates and Vicky Coates (Urtnowski); his wife Kathleen Marie Coates (Fortsch); his son Corbin Coates; his brother James Coates (Stacy); and his nephews, Calvin and Henry Coates. He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles and cousins and many friends.
