She was predeceased by: her husband George Vega; her parents, John Velez and Maria Velez (Elias); her daughter Lydia Acosta; and her grandson Christopher George Vega II.
She is survived by: her children, Christopher George Vega Sr. (Lisa) of East Stroudsburg, Philip Vega (Roseann) of East Stroudsburg, Kenneth Vega (Denise) of New York and Susan Diaz (Nelson) of Florida; and her sisters, Ida and Nancy. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
